About Me

Hello, welcome to my blog!

My name is Alex, and I am passionate about conservation!

I studied Conservation Biology at the University of Aberdeen, and completed my Masters degree in Ecology and Environmental Biology at the University of Glasgow... more years ago than I would like to acknowledge...

My past writing credentials include articles for The Ecologist, Birdwatching Magazine, Birdwatch, Love Nature, The Urban Times, The Random Fact, and I have been chief blogger at conservationjobs.co.uk for 9 years.

This blog is all about the latest research in conservation. It is my attempt to document the impact we are having on our fellow species and encourage more people to care about protecting them.

I believe everyone should have compassion for the species we share our planet with, so I hope my blog inspires you to want to do all you can to save our precious biodiversity, and teaches you why it is so important that we do so.

I would love to hear your views, or if you know of any research I may have missed, please do let me know.

If you would like me to write for you, or would like to collaborate with me on a conservation project, I would love to work with you! Please email me at ataylorfreelance@gmail.com or fill out the contact form below.

(As you may tell from my picture, not only do I love to write about conservation, I love to read about it too - follow my instagram feed to keep up to date with what I am reading!)
